1) I can use Microsoft Word very well and can apply it to my future as an educator.
2) I know how to use photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, and have years of experience using them. 3) I am able to use technology in order to communicate with others, using proper online etiquette. |
1) I am informed about copyright laws and how to create my own Creative Commons licenses for my various creations.
2) I know how to use various online programs that allow me to make infographics, educational videos, and newsletters for in classroom use. 3) I know how to properly and effectively use a PLN like Twitter in order to better my own connections with other teachers around the world. |
1) I need to learn about copyright laws and how I, as a future educator, can avoid copyright infringement as well as protect my own content.
2) I need to learn how to discuss cyberbullying with my students. Cyberbullying is becoming more and more of an issue because of the rise of technology and it is imperative that middle school teachers educate students about the dangers of all forms of bullying. 3) I need to learn how to use certain technologies to differentiate learning. Assistive technologies are important but I do not know much about them. |
1) I need to learn further about assistive technologies for classroom use. I have learned about quite a few resources that help with dyslexia but not many about ADD/ADHD and other learning disabilities and impairments. I would like to know about many resources that will help my students succeed.
2) I need to learn how to use Microsoft Access, a program that I have never had to use for any of my classes before. 3) I should learn how to use certain blogging websites in order to enhance teacher to student and parent communication. I know how to use Google Sites and Weebly now but I have not tried using websites like Blogger or WordPress. |
1) I will use my Symbaloo account to store links to websites and other resources that I use throughout W200. I plan to have at least 35 resources saved by the end of the semester and will continue to use Symbaloo for the rest of my college career, as it will help me prepare for my future career.
2) I will create a well-made video using a video creating software by the end of this semester. I will know that my goal will have been met if my video is within the time requirements, is easy to follow, and has a good production quality. 3) I will know how to properly utilize websites like Google Sites and Weebly to create a teacher website and ePortfolio. I think that it is very beneficial to know how to create an informing and aesthetically pleasing resource that allows students and parents to learn about what will happen in your classroom and a place for future employers to learn of your background. I will meet my goal if I complete every checkpoint of the process and do well on the overall assignments. |
1) I used Symbaloo effectively and have 60 pins on my page. The tools range from links to my own websites and creations to articles that I found online about teaching to websites that were shown to us in W200.
2) I created a video about Mesopotamia using a whiteboard, camera, and Windows Movie Maker. It fit the requirements of the assignment and was graded well. I feel more confident now about using production software to create educational videos. I then modified my video using EDPuzzle, which I am also confident using now. 3) I created a website as a current educator on Google Sites and created an ePortfolio on Weebly, which is this page. I think that they are both very easy to use and can be modified to fit specific needs. |
